I just got this lens today, and I have loved it so far. After a few hours of shooting, I noticed that the aperture wouldn't go down to f/2.8. I tried in Aperture Priority and Manual mode, but nothing changed. Just to make sure everything was ok with the camera, I put my 70-200mm f/2.8 VR on, and it went right down to f/2.8. I see people that take their images and add surreal effects that could never be achieved without software, and I'm okay with that as long as the photographer is making everyone aware that the photo was heavily edited. But what about the photos that look real, but had a flower added to them, or had something that was there completely wiped out, and other such things, but the photographer doesn't tell anyone? Is that okay? I personally have a huge issue with someone changing their photo without making people aware. I recently switched to a new Apache server host, and in the process found that we can't upload attachments or avatars because of "file_uploads" being turned off. Hi all I Have a 1.6 X box:angry: running xbmc with XTV over the top. Its hard modded with a 300gb drive inside with currently 200gb used. I've read elsewhere on the forum that if the drive is formatted with 16k clusters there is trouble reading over 250gb, the contents of the drive simply disappear. The drive was originally set up using AID3.?. Are there any tools at all that let me know what the cluster size is on the drive? If it's 32k all is well however if it's 16k then i really need to back up & re-format, something I'm not looking forward to. July will be a very fun month for me with switching from Nikon to Canon (for reasons I've explained on here before so don't ask! :P) and upgrading to a 5D. I have a softmoded box with EvoX and XBMC. I switched to "Widescreen" with 780 and 480 enabled in M$ dashboard. This enabled the 16x9 780p option in XBMC. XBMC now outputs 16x9 (looks great), but when I go into EvoX, M$ dash or a DVD game, the res switches to 4x3. The setting in M$ dash is still on "Widescreen" + 780 & 480. When I switch to standard res and back to widescreen in M$ dash, the screen flashes as if the res is changing but it still outputs 4x3. Has anyone seen this problem? At the races, I shoot with my 70-200 and have my 17-85 (or whatever wide lens I own at the time) in a pocket for quick access during Victory Lane shots. 2 facts: -I need the extra lens, so I've gotta carry it somehow -Often, a time arises (bad wreck) where I need to run closer. My dilemma: -Running with the lens in my cargo pocket makes the lens swing, and it seems like that would negatively affect the lens, so I don't do it. Other than that cargo pocket, I don't know of any better way to hold that lens that'll keep it from bouncing around when I run. Concerns are that it's not labeled as microwave safe, nor is it made out of a sturdy material . I just got this lens today, and I have loved it so far. After a few hours of shooting, I noticed that the aperture wouldn't go down to f/2.8. I tried in Aperture Priority and Manual mode, but nothing changed. Just to make sure everything was ok with the camera, I put my 70-200mm f/2.8 VR on, and it went right down to f/2.8. I see people that take their images and add surreal effects that could never be achieved without software, and I'm okay with that as long as the photographer is making everyone aware that the photo was heavily edited. I recently switched to a new Apache server host, and in the process found that we can't upload attachments or avatars because of "file_uploads" being turned off. Hi all I Have a 1.6 X box:angry: running xbmc with XTV over the top. Its hard modded with a 300gb drive inside with currently 200gb used. I've read elsewhere on the forum that if the drive is formatted with 16k clusters there is trouble reading over 250gb, the contents of the drive simply disappear. The drive was originally set up using AID3.?. Are there any tools at all that let me know what the cluster size is on the drive? If it's 32k all is well however if it's 16k then i really need to back up & re-format, something I'm not looking forward to. July will be a very fun month for me with switching from Nikon to Canon (for reasons I've explained on here before so don't ask! :P) and upgrading to a 5D. I have a softmoded box with EvoX and XBMC. I switched to "Widescreen" with 780 and 480 enabled in M$ dashboard. This enabled the 16x9 780p option in XBMC. XBMC now outputs 16x9 (looks great), but when I go into EvoX, M$ dash or a DVD game, the res switches to 4x3. The setting in M$ dash is still on "Widescreen" + 780 & 480. When I switch to standard res and back to widescreen in M$ dash, the screen flashes as if the res is changing but it still outputs 4x3. Has anyone seen this problem? » Running with lenses? How bad is it?
At the races, I shoot with my 70-200 and have my 17-85 (or whatever wide lens I own at the time) in a pocket for quick access during Victory Lane shots. 2 facts: -I need the extra lens, so I've gotta carry it somehow -Often, a time arises (bad wreck) where I need to run closer. My dilemma: -Running with the lens in my cargo pocket makes the lens swing, and it seems like that would negatively affect the lens, so I don't do it. Other than that cargo pocket, I don't know of any better way to hold that lens that'll keep it from bouncing around when I run. The questions: A) How 'shock-proof' are lenses, and would you trust a lens flying back and forth in your pocket hitting your leg? My dogs rabies & bordetella vaccinations expire in mid december, and his annuals don't expire until Jan 11. I boiled some water, then poured it into a Dannon water jug. It's similar to a regular plastic bottle, but much larger, and it is recycling number is 1. Concerns are that it's not labeled as microwave safe, nor is it made out of a sturdy material .
